The automotive air conditioning filter (AACF) in passenger cars is a core component that ensures in-car air quality and the health of the air conditioning system. Its primary function is to filter out impurities, harmful gases, and microorganisms from the air entering the vehicle, while also protecting the air conditioner evaporator and blower, and improving driving comfort. Its core features can be expanded from various dimensions such as filtering function, structural design, material properties, and applicable scenarios, as follows:

Filters: Carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NOx), and sulfur dioxide (SO₂) from vehicle exhaust, as well as ambient air fumes, industrial waste, and formaldehyde (small amounts) emitted from interior trim, benzene, and other substances.

Implementation: Adding an activated carbon layer (granular activated carbon or honeycomb activated carbon) to the base filter material. The porous structure of the activated carbon absorbs harmful gases and odor molecules, with an adsorption capacity of typically 50-100g/㎡ (replacement is required upon saturation, otherwise odor will be released).

The appearance of passenger car air conditioning filters is not standardized but customized according to the duct dimensions of each vehicle. Common shapes include:

Rectangular/Trapezoidal: This shape is commonly used in mainstream family sedans (such as Toyota and Volkswagen models). Sponge sealing strips are placed around the edges to ensure complete airflow through the filter media, preventing unfiltered air leakage.

Irregular Shape: Some luxury models (such as Mercedes-Benz and BMW series) have unique duct designs, resulting in filter elements with irregular shapes (such as curves or notches). These filters must be precisely matched to the vehicle model to avoid misalignment.
