1.Function: The main function of the thermostat is to automatically regulate the flow of coolant according to the engine's temperature, so as to maintain the engine at an optimal operating temperature. It can control the flow path of the coolant, ensuring that the engine can quickly reach the normal operating temperature when it is cold - started and can be effectively cooled when it is running at high temperatures.

2.Working Principle: The ISUZU 1-13770080-1 thermostat is likely a wax - type thermostat. When the engine coolant temperature is lower than a certain value (usually around 70℃), the wax inside the thermostat is in a solid state, and the valve is closed. At this time, the coolant only circulates within the engine, which is called a small - cycle. This can quickly heat up the engine to the normal operating temperature. When the coolant temperature rises to a certain level (such as above 80℃), the wax expands due to heat, pushing the valve to open, and the coolant begins to flow through the thermostat and the radiator for large - cycle cooling, which can take away the excess heat of the engine and prevent it from overheating.
