1.Power transmission: The swing drive receives hydraulic pressure from the swing motor. The swing motor converts hydraulic energy into mechanical energy and outputs rotational power. The swing drive then transmits this power to the upper structure of the excavator through a series of gears, enabling the upper structure to rotate relative to the lower structure.

2.Speed reduction and torque increase: The swing drive usually has a two - stage speed reduction mechanism. By reducing the speed of the swing motor, it can increase the output torque to meet the large - torque requirements of the excavator's upper - structure rotation. This allows the excavator to rotate the upper structure smoothly and powerfully during operation, even under heavy - load conditions.
