The Lenovo ThinkServer SR588 is designed for rack environments that require dual processors and large capacity memory, meeting the needs of large and medium-sized enterprises for cloud and big data environments. SR588 is a balanced mid-range rack server that is also ideal for small-scale virtualization, collaboration, and productivity applications, as well as caching and logging.

With 1.2 times higher memory bandwidth than the previous generation, two second-generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors Platinum Series can improve agility and manage high demand workloads containing large amounts of data. The Intel Alto data center grade persistent memory combined with up to 1TB of 2933MHz TruDDR4 memory capacity allows applications to run faster and more efficiently, and improve performance at lower costs and higher overall value.

Flexible and scalable

SR588 supports up to 8 hot swappable 3.5-inch hard drives or 16 hot swappable 2.5-inch hard drives. Up to four 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch shelves can be AnyBay, supporting not only SAS/SATA drives but also direct connection to NVMe drives (bypassing the SAS bus) for ultimate storage performance. In addition, SR588 supports SAS and SATA HDDs and SSDs with up to 12Gb SAS throughput, as well as up to two M.2 drivers, enabling faster and more secure operating system boot.

SR588 provides storage flexibility, including various types of NIC extensions such as LOM, ML2, and PCIe, as well as replaceable I/O expansion cards, enabling various adapter slot configurations.
