HDD Heat-Shrinkable Sleeve That Meet All Relevant Global Standards


A three-layer system consisting of 100% solids two-component liquid epoxy primer and a heat shrink sleeve made from a high shear strength co-polymer adhesive and irradiation cross-linked, high-density polyethylene backing. This coating system replicates the structure and the performance of factory-applied three-layer PE coatings.


Fibre reinforced heat-shrinkable sleeve for field joint protection during directional drilling
A high-performance fibreglass reinforced sleeve specifically designed for girth weld corrosion protection for PE, PP and FBE coated pipes used for horizontal or directional drilling (HDD-Pull Through) applications. The reinforcement gives the backing greater abrasion and gouge resistance.


During installation, the epoxy is applied to the prepared pipe surfaceand the heat-shrinkable sleeve is immediately wrapped around thejoint over the wet epoxy. Heat is then applied to the sleeve, whichshrinks to form a tight fit around the joint. While curing, the epoxyforms strong mechanical and chemical bonds to the pipe surface & tothe copolymer adhesive layer. The radiation cross-linked outer layerforms a tough barrier against mechanical damage and moisturetransmission.
