Check Valve Description

Silent check valve was to meet this steadily growing problem that the Silent Check Valve evolved. In designing this valve all other characteristics were subordinated to the principal need that it must positively close before a reversal of flow takes place, silently. The Silent Check Valve was designed to open at approximately 1 /4 to 1 /2 psi (2 - 3 kpa), which means that when a pump is shut down, a Silent Check Valve will completely close while there is still positive head on the inlet side of approximately 1 /2 psi (3 kpa). In this simple manner reverse flow, which is a major cause of water hammer, never gets a chance to start (in contrast to the swing check).

Silent check valves are composed of body, seat, fluid guide, disc, Bush and spring. Internal runner is streamlined design, pressure loss is small, disc opening and closing stroke is very short, stop pump can be quickly closed, prevent huge water hammer sound, form silent effect. The valve is mainly used for water supply, drainage, fire protection, HVAC system, can be installed at the outlet of the pump to prevent media backflow and water hammer damage to the pump.
